Your NDIS, Your Life

The National Disability Insurance Scheme is essentially a key to unlocking a better supported life for you as a person living with permanent and significant disability. If you or a loved one is in need of disability support, whether its for daily personal and household tasks, support related to getting to work or community engagement, or clinical needs, Well Wish Care Providers can help you access these supports through the NDIS. Together, we can work towards creating possibilities, seizing opportunities and growing towards better health and independent living.

What is the NDIS?

The NDIS was created by the Australian government as a body that would help people with disability to live more independently and to have their primary needs taken care of. It is meant to be a lifeline for those with physical and psychosocial challenges that require them to have regular support in order to achieve their short- and long-term goals. The NDIS makes funds available for you to access the relevant services you need for daily, optimal functioning.

Do I Qualify For NDIS Funding?

To become an NDIS participant you have to be an Australian resident (either a citizen or with a valid visa), you have to be between the ages of 7 and 65, and you must have a permanent or significant physical or intellectual impairment that affects your daily life. If you tick all these boxes, you will most likely qualify for NDIS funding, and you can receive NDIS supports through a recognised provider.

  • Does the NDIS help to protect my rights?

The NDIS is governed by the National Disability Insurance Agency and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. They ensure that all participants are treated with dignity and that their rights are upheld.
